# Random group allocator

Randomly split a pasted list into balanced groups or assign one random winner.

One item per line

Number of groups

Randomly divide names, IDs or choices into balanced groups. Shuffling uses the browser's cryptographic random source and the list never leaves the page.

## A fair Fisher–Yates shuffle

Every item is shuffled with random values supplied by Web Crypto, then dealt across groups.

## Groups stay balanced

Round-robin dealing means group sizes differ by no more than one.

## Frequently asked questions

Can the same item appear twice?

Duplicate input lines are treated as separate entries, which is useful for repeated tickets.

Can I reproduce a draw?

No. This tool prioritises fresh browser randomness rather than seeded reproducibility.
